RIDING, JUMPING & WORKING AROUND HORSES ARE RISK ACTIVITIES.

Your choice to ride, jump or work around horses is at your own risk. We take all reasonable care to provide suitable and safe horses and ponies for all our clients. All animals can be unpredictable. We strongly advise you to take out full personal accident cover. Everyone must obey the instructions of the instructors and staff and must comply with the health & safety requirements and policies of the establishment.

Please note:

Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD, the Directors and staff cannot be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss to any persons or their property whilst on these premises or whilst out on any equestrian related activities.

Agreement of terms:

If you do not agree with any of our Terms and Conditions, then you do not have permission to enter the premises and any bookings are null and void. Our Terms and Conditions are available online and on request at any time. As such you have every opportunity to read them before booking any activity and a refund will not be available on failure to accept them.

ALL Clients, Parents and Guardians

1. Must read and comply with all the safety notices and ensure that they and their child understands and follows the safety rules. Ignoring them is at the riders and child’s own risk. Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD reserve the right to ask riders and visitors to leave the grounds at any time if it thinks they are a danger either to themself, the horses or any other person.

 

2. Must have completed an application and waiver form before the lesson or session begins. These online forms will be emailed to all new clients or printed copies are available from our Equestrian Centre office, at reception.

 

3. Understand that the information given to Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD will be held in accordance with Irish Data Protection Legislation but may also be made available to Insurers and other parties in the event of any injury or incident. Please not that our data is kept on Servers in Belgium.

 

4. Understand that parent’s contact details given may be used by Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD for communications to their clients but will not be sold or passed onto any third parties.

 

5. Must resubmit their application and waiver form if their details change. (The responsibility falls to the Parent/Guardian if the child is under 18). These are available on our website or from our Equestrian Centre office at Reception.

 

6. Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD reserves the right to refuse the rider a particular horse/pony if they feel that the safety of the rider or horse is in question. The rider has the right to change to another horse/ pony, providing one is available, and it is practical and safe to do so.

 

7. The rider has the right to request a change of coach facilitator subject to availability. Equestrian staff also reserves the right to decline to teach a client for any reason.

New Clients:

In order to establish a riders standard of riding, it is mandatory that they attend an Assessment Lesson and register in the member software package. The rider must agree to be honest and volunteer accurate information about ability and experience.

Previous Clients:

A rider who has not been riding with Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD for a year or more must complete another Assessment Lesson.

Booking of Lessons:

All bookings are subject to availability.

Bookings must be booked with the Equestrian Centre office only. Please do not make any bookings with accounts, coaches or staff as we cannot guarantee availability.

Payments:

All bookings require payment in advance online. Please note we prefer to not accept cash or cheque payments.

Bookings made cannot be refunded if cancellation happens within 48 hours of the booked services starting.

Cancellations / Refund Policy:

As the horses/ponies are tacked up in preparation for each ride out/lesson in advance it is very important that cancellation is done through the Equestrian Centre office, directly. 

All ride outs and private lessons, operate a 48 hour cancellation policy, less than 48 hours’ will require the full amount for that lesson to be paid. This is a condition of booking any service with Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD

In the event of Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD cancelling a trail ride / lesson, a replacement lesson will be offered (where possible), no charge for the cancelled Trail ride/lesson will be incurred if a replacement trail ride / lesson is not available. A full refund will be offered in no other alternative can be given. Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD reserve the right to cancel a lesson at any time, but will try to give as much notice as possible. In case the cancellation is caused by the riders own doing, mainly but not limited to safety breaches, the charge will remain in place. 

Bad Weather or Conditions:

Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD will ride in most conditions and appropriate clothing should be worn. Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD reserve the right to cancel lessons in severe weather; please phone or mail the Equestrian Centre office if in doubt.

Punctuality and Arrival Times:

Arrival 10-15 minutes before the start of the lesson or trial trek to allow time for dressing up is required.

Late arrival may cause the lesson or ride out to be shortened at the riders expense.

Safety Equipment and Riding Wear:

In the interests of safety, Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD reserve the right to decline a client in the event of refusal to wear appropriate safety wear, clothing and / or footwear. In case of safety refusals, the charge for the session will still apply.

1. A riding hats must meet up to 2016 standard or one of the following PAS-015 standard mark, ASTM F1163 or Snell 2001 AS/NZS 3838 must be worn when riding, leading or grooming. Hats must be kitemarked. Hats to be worn by all riders.

2. Body protectors must be worn by children and is optional for adults. Body protectors must be of an acceptable safety standard ie BETA level 3 purple standard

3. Jewellery must be removed prior to starting any lessons, programme, session, at  Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD.

Warnings Signs and Restricted Areas:

There are Health & Safety signs and notices posted around the facility, Riders and visitors must acknowledge and comply, ignoring them is at the rider/ visitors risk .

Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD reserve the right to ask the visitor/rider to leave the grounds at any time if they think they are a danger either to themselves, the horses or any other person

Supervision of Children, Spectators, Extra Visitors and/or Friends of the Family:
Movement of Horses & Ponies and Farm Equipment:

Movement of Horses & Ponies and Farm Equipment around the yard and surrounding areas is unavoidable and it is vital that they are always given way.

 

No children are permitted in any of the stabling areas without planned staff supervision. Running is not permitted in any area of the Equestrian Centre including the yard or arenas.

 

Loud noises or shouting while in the Equestrian Centre or near horses is unacceptable.

 

Visitors to the yard must stay behind the designated barriers in front of Stable Doors and closed gates.

 

The following areas are restricted unless otherwise agreed with a member of staff:

These areas represent the horse’s / pony’s space and must be respected at all times.

 

Stable Yard including but not limited to:

1) All Stables

2) Tack Rooms

3) Feed Rooms

4) Hay Shed

5) Equestrian Centre Arenas (Only Staff, Helpers and Riders allowed in the Arena unless otherwise agreed with your lesson coach), excluding the Spectator Gallery

6) Sheds or other Buildings

7) Fields or Paddocks

8) Locked/Closed/Staff Only Areas or Buildings

All passageways and entrances/exits must be kept clear of any obstructions.

 

Sitting on or climbing over any gates or fences is strictly prohibited.

All gates including arena gates must be kept securely closed.

Horses/Ponies:

All animals are unpredictable; do not feed the horses & ponies at any time.

Do not enter any field, stable or make contact with a horse or pony at any time, without prior authorisation from a member of staff.

When walking near a horse give a gap of at least the horse’s length between you and the horse.

If a rider wishes to bring a treat for the horse/pony, it should be given to a member of staff who will bring it to the Feed Room where it will be added to their next meal.

At no time a rider can feed any horses or pony belonging to the  Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD or livery owners.

Please accept that there is a risk of falling off a horse and being injured and  Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD does not accept liability:

Sitting on or climbing over any gates or fences is strictly prohibited.

All gates including arena gates must be kept securely closed.

Personal Property:

 Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD strongly advise that children and adults do not bring any valuables, e.g. Mobile Phone, money etc.

 Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD cannot be held responsible for Damage, Theft or Loss of your personal property while it is on the premises.

This also includes the parking area, and any damage to personal vehicles, golf cars, or other means of transport.

Weight restriction:

To maintain a high standard of horse welfare it is necessary to impose an upper weight restriction on riders which is 15st (including riding gear) or 95kg. depending on the ability and type of lesson.

Food & Snacks:

Chewing gum or any other type of food should not be eaten while attending a lesson.

Food & Snacks should only be consumed in the designated areas.

No Smoking:

Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD operates a No Smoking Policy throughout its premises.

Photo / digital media Permission

Photos or any digital media are not allowed to be taken by members of the public unless prior permission has been given by management.

Car Park, Driving & Pedestrians in  Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD and Access routes:

Maximum Speed on the premises is 10mph.

The carpark operates on one way system 2-way system, please note when leaving the property, you will be entering the private Mount Juliet estate,

 

We would ask that cars do not stop to drop-off riders on the driveway or block the car park gates.

We would ask that drivers stop their cars to allow horses pass.

The drive is not a footpath and walkers are advised to take extreme care.

Dogs

Dogs must be always kept under control and must be on a leash.

The residential dog must not be fed at any time.

If the dog is causing disruption, you may be asked to remove your dog from the area.

OTHER:

Sitting on or climbing over any gates or fences is strictly prohibited.

All gates including arena gates must be kept securely closed.

Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD cannot be held responsible for Damage, Theft or Loss of our personal property while it is on the premises. Any damage caused towards the equestrian is at the full expense of the person (or the person whose actions causes damage).

CCTV:

CCTV is covering the entire  Mount Juliet Equestrian at Mount Juliet Estate LTD terrain both inside and outside, by entering the terrain or using our services you explicitly agree with CCTV and Sound recordings on CCTV.
